The energy delivered by the Sun to the Earth in an hour is more than the yearly worldwide consumption. Harvesting efficiently the solar energy is an urgent challenge to keep growing in an ecologically sustainable way. At this stand, organized by the Laboratory of Semiconductor Materials (LMSC), you will learn the fundamental principles of solar energy conversion in photovoltaic cells, and discover how EPFL researchers are investigating new semiconductor materials and nanostructures to improve their efficiency and sustainability.
