IBOIS Laboratory (Laboratory for Timber Constructions):
How can wood reduce CO2 emissions from the construction industry?
We work on the development of new methods and technologies in timber construction and investigates the potential of advanced digital tools and machines such as robots for the automation of timber structures.
Visits of IBOIS Laboratory:
The visit will be the occasion of showing the testing facility where IBOIS - the laboratory for timber constructions - is pursuing its research activities on the digitization of the timber construction sector. Visitors will be introduced to the broad range of equipments and prototypes developed by the lab. Those include a 5-axis CNC machine to cut timber panels and round wood, a 6 axis robotic arm to perform automated assemblies, and a laser scanner to get precise 3D models from tree trunks. The visit will also be the opportunity of seeing how those digital tools can help architects and engineers to design innovative and sustainable timber structures.
