Description

-- ONLINE REGISTRATION SOLD OUT -- Remaining places will be available at the reception desk in the BC building on the day of the event. Our vision is to make interactions with virtual environments possible and as seamless as possible by leveraging our body movements. The scientific term is embodied interaction. In fundamental research, we collaborate with the Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory of EPFL. We are trying to characterize our tolerance to possible defects in the movement of our virtual body in order to optimize the computing resources because the interaction must be carried out in real time! This approach opens the way to new classes of applications exploiting our motor and spatial skills, or enabling them to be (re)acquired. Another line of research focuses on methods and algorithms for producing "live" movement of virtual characters based on an artist's movement. Come visit our laboratory! INJ 118 Ronan Boulic - Immersive Interaction Group (IIG) Demonstration every half-hour: 14h / 14h30 / 15h / 15h30 / 16h / 16h30 Registration is required for this event. (Ticketing button)
