Deep dive into the cell - Visit of a laboratory

Apr 30, 202311:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Bâtiment SV - Hall niveau 1

Description

Come and visit the laboratory of Prof. Pierre Gönczy, discover life in the laboratory and dive into the fascinating world of cells. The human being contains more than 30 trillion cells, all of which are descended from an egg cell. The mechanisms by which cells multiply must be precisely controlled, not least to prevent diseases such as cancer. These mechanisms are very similar in the different species we use in our laboratory - including small worms and green algae - to better understand these fundamental processes that are also applicable to humans. We are particularly interested in centrioles, tiny and fundamental components of our cells, as well as in asymmetric divisions Duration of the visit: 30 min Registration on site. Reception Hall SV. 10 persons per group Schedule: 13:30 / 14:00 / 14:30 / 15:00 / 15:30 / 16:00 / 16:30
