Organoids: mini-organs for the medicine of tomorrow?

Apr 30, 2023 — 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Bâtiment SV - Hall niveau 1

Description

Find out what an organoid is: from how it is grown to its use in basic research and personalised medicine. You will be able to observe organoid cultures under a luminescence and fluorescence microscope. Organoids are three-dimensional tissue cultures derived from stem cells. They allow researchers to study the functionality of organs in vitro and are particularly attractive in the study of development and personalized medicine. They allow the discovery of new drugs, while limiting the need for animal testing.
