Space research is a fascinating field of study, not only for what it teaches us about our planetary system and life on Earth, but also for the amazing technology that results. EPFL scientists and students are helping shape the future of the space industry by developing even more sophisticated satellites, rovers and rocket launchers, as well as ways of improving astronauts’ lives in outer space. They’re also investigating ways to make space missions more sustainable and responsible. For instance, engineers at ClearSpace – an EPFL spin-off – are deploying technology to capture and deorbit space debris.
